Double Sheffield Wednesday blow: Forestieri out for three months and Carvalhal hit with touchline ban
The news was announced by Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal at his pre-match media conference on Friday morning, ahead of Saturday's Championship clash with Nottingham Forest.

Hide AdForestieri has struggled with his knee since last season, and over the international break saw a specialist, who recommended surgery.
The 27-year-old Argentinian has had a rough start to the season, sidelined by the club last month after a training ground bust-up with team-mate San Winnall.
The latter has since been shipped out on loan to Derby County.

Hide AdNow Forestieri's absence means both protagonists in that incident are no longer involved in Carvalhal's immediate first-team plans.
"Fernando will be out a minimum of three months because he needs surgery on the knee," confirmed Carvalhal. "I believe he will have the surgery at the beginning of next week.
"We hope he will recover as soon as possible."
And Carvalhal gave updates on injured trio Glenn Loovens, Sam Hutchinson and Kieran Lee.

Hide AdHe said: "Glenn is still recovering. He will take more time.
"Sam is progressing very well and I believe he will be training soon.
"Kieran is training but we are managing him."
Carvalhal will serve a two-man touchline ban after being sent to the stands during last month's League Cup tie at Bolton Wanderers.

Hide AdAn FA statement read: "Carlos Carvalhal will serve a two-match touchline ban with immediate effect following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Thursday [7 September 2017]."The Sheffield Wednesday manager was charged for misconduct in relation to his behaviour in the 88th minute of the EFL Cup game against Bolton Wanderers on 22 August 2017. The charge was designated as a non-standard case as this was Mr Carvalhal’s second misconduct charge within 12 months."Mr Carvalhal, who partially admitted the charge and requested a personal hearing, was also fined £4,000. Bolton manager Phil Parkinson was fined £2,000 after admitting misconduct during the same fixture and accepted the standard penalty. "Sheffield Wednesday’s Performance Director Andy Kalinins was also charged for misconduct following a 90th minute incident in the same game. He will serve an immediate two-match touchline ban after admitting the charge and was fined £3,000."
