Ex Leeds boss to don boots again

FORMER Leeds United star Gary McAllister is making a stunning playing comeback at the age of 45 – with Tadcaster Albion.

The ex-Scottish international midfielder retired from the professional game in 2003 when he moved into management with Coventry.

McAllister, who won the league title with Leeds in 1992, later managed United before leaving in 2008 but is now preparing to help out Northern Counties East Division One club Tadcaster.

Their manager, Paul Marshall, played with McAllister for Harrogate Veterans at the weekend and asked him if he would sign for the club.

"Gary's 45 but he still looks fit and he can do a job for us," said Marshall.

"Hopefully, he'll pull in a few more supporters."
