Feeling confident with the pressure off and Rhodes scoring goals

I DO feel quietly confident ahead of today’s final, mainly because there is not the pressure on the team that there was last year when we had just missed out on automatic promotion.

We all went to Old Trafford for the final against Peterborough United believing it was our year. We’d finished third, been on a good run and shown some of our best form away from home – which, of course, was what the final effectively was.

But, unfortunately, a crazy 10 minutes meant we lost 3-0 to Peterborough.

It feels to be the total opposite this time and I think that will suit us. I also think we are much more solid as a team than a year ago, particularly at the back. And then there is Jordan Rhodes, who has been scoring goals for fun.

To score 40 like he has this season is amazing, especially as it is almost like a goal a game.

Last season, Jordan didn’t really fit into the system Lee Clark liked to play away from home so didn’t play as many games as he probably should have. But he still scored 16 league goals.

This time around he has been brilliant and it would be great if he could add to his tally at Wembley, especially as I think it will probably be his last game for us as even if we go up then clubs will be coming in with big offers.

The attention may well be on Jordan but I also feel Kallum Higginbotham could be a big player. He went out on loan to Barnsley and I am not sure the Sheffield United players will know too much about him.

But, in the two play-off semi-finals, I thought he was superb and could have a real say in the final. It is because of him I am going for a 2-1 win to Town.
