Fleetwood Town v Bradford City: Bantams' performances are cause for optimism

Their inability to turn draws into wins despite often being on top has been a frustrating feature of the season at Valley Parade.

Last Saturday at Bristol Rovers was typical, with a sloppy goal given away before City restored parity and then laid siege to the opposition goal only to be denied a winner by some defiant goalkeeping.

Tonight, Bradford head to fellow play-off hopefuls Fleetwood Town and manager Stuart McCall believes a similar standard of performance can bring a victory that would set up his side nicely for Saturday’s reunion with former manager Phil Parkinson and Bolton Wanderers.

“It was another draw (on Saturday) and people might make a thing about that,” said the former Scottish international.

“But, give me that performance against Fleetwood and we have a really good chance of winning the game.”

Josh Cullen will miss the trip to the Lancashire coast with a thigh strain picked up in training last week.

McCall added: “There will be changes. We will freshen it up in certain areas and, hopefully, have the same level of performance and desire that we showed against Bristol Rovers to get those three points.”
