Fletcher concerned more with Euro 2012 trail than cap count

Darren Fletcher will tonight enter Scotland's hall of fame when he collects his 50th cap against Liechtenstein at Hampden Park.

But rather than his personal milestone, the Manchester United midfielder is focused on qualification for Euro 2012.

With world champions Spain and Czech Republic also in Euro 2012 qualifying Group I, Fletcher is aware failure to defeat Liechtenstein would be "disastrous".

"With respect for qualifying for Euros, then there can be no slip-ups," said the Scotland captain.

"If we can get three points (against Liechtenstein) and then four points from the two games, then it's a satisfactory start and it's not too bad a position from then on.

"We've got games coming up against Czech Republic and Spain, so that's why it's imperative against Liechtenstein to get three points.

"Anything other than that is disastrous towards qualifying."

Repub lic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has resisted the temptation to make changes for tonight's qualifier against Andorra. The Italian will field the same 11 men who started Friday evening's 1-0 win in Armenia in the first competitive international at the newly-revamped Aviva Stadium.

That means goalkeeper Shay Given will line up behind a back four of John O'Shea, Richard Dunne, Sean St Ledger and Kevin Kilbane, while Glenn Whelan retains his place in a midfield four also including Liam Lawrence, Paul Green and Aiden McGeady despite having been booked in Yerevan.

Captain Robbie Keane will partner Kevin Doyle in attack.
