Tommaso Bianchi has been made available by Leeds United this transfer window and is attracting interest from the usual suspects across Italy. Now Serie B side Vicenza are keen on bringing him in this month, according to Tutto Mercato. His representatives and representatives of the Italian second tier side are set to hold talks over the next few days.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce wants to make Isaac Hayden’s move from Arsenal permanent, despite Saturday being his first start in the league since September. Hayden even came close to cutting his loan spell short earlier this month due to the lack of first-team action. That will not deter Bruce from trying to snap up the 20-year-old.

“I’ve already been on to Arsenal because I’d love to make it permanent if I could,” said Bruce.

“I’d make it permanent tomorrow if that was possible. I desperately want to hang on to him. In an ideal world he’d want to be playing every week but he’s started last weekend and again.

“He’s a very good young player, who’s progressing all the time.

“He’s got his goal and he did very well. He’s energetic and full of beans and he’ll remember his first goal today. I wanted to freshen us up in midfield and he was one who took his chance well. It was very good to see.”

Rotherham may have gone Becch to the future by snapping up former loanee Luciano Becchio, pending international clearance, but that is not enough for Neil Redfearn. With Lee Frecklington set to spend the next few weeks on the sidelines, the former Barnsley midfielder wants additions in that position.

“I’d like to think there will be new faces in,” he said. “Becchio has passed his medical and terms have been agreed so it’s just a question of getting clearance for him. That’s a big plus for us. It’s extra competition up top.

“We’re short of bodies in midfield. We’ve got young Thorpey (Tom Thorpe) who is a utility player who can perhaps fill in in a midfield position and we’ve got Manu Ledesma who can do maybe one of the two wide roles, but there aren’t obvious options in the midfield positions.

“Lee Frecklington is out for maybe another couple of weeks, so as much as it’s about putting quality in there it’s also about numbers.”

Gary Hooper’s Sheffield Wednesday future could be resolved this week, with the Owls in talks with Norwich according to the Sheffield Star.

Hooper said: “I want to stay, I like it here. It’s a good squad and we’re winning games. I’m scoring goals and playing games. I’m happy here and we’ve just got to see what happens now.”
