Hammill tipped for bright future

Barnsley manager Mark Robins tipped Adam Hammill for the Premier League after he helped take apart Leeds at Oakwell on Tuesday night.

After Jonny Howson had given Leeds an early advantage, Hammill had a hand in all five of his side's goals, scoring one, as they thrashed Leeds 5-2.

The former Liverpool trainee was once a target of Leeds, and he gave them a full demonstration of his skill set as he took the visiting full-backs apart.

He made a goal for debutant Garry O'Connor before the break, and then went on to set up Jim O'Brien and Diego Arismendi, before forcing Neill Collins to put through his own goal and grabbing one for himself.

"Adam ran with the ball when he shouldn't and passed it when he shouldn't in the first half, but in the second he got the right balance," Robins said.

"He has everything in his locker; he just needs the guile and the know-how. He needs that type of thing in his game and he'll be heading off to the Premier League."
