Hillsborough opens doors for Owls training session

Sheffield Wednesday are opening their doors for fans to sit in on an opening training session ahead of the new League One season.

Owls fans can watch Alan Irvine's newly-assembled squad – which includes eight new signings – train on the Hillsborough turf on Monday, August 2.

The North Stand will be open to fans, gates open at 10am, and training will be followed by an hour's signing session where players will be available to meet fans and sign autographs.

Optimism is high at Wednesday of bouncing straight back from relegation from the Championship last season.

Two Owls sides knocked in 15 goals between them on Monday night in squad games against Hallam FC (9-0) and Stocksbridge Park Steels (6-1), while fans have snapped up the 1,500 away allocation for tomorrow's friendly at Grimsby Town.

Trialist Adriano Moke started against Stocksbridge and the young winger was said to have impressed Wednesday.
