MATCH MARKS

Lossl 7

Beaten by an excellent finish for the opener by Tosun, who then brought a smart save from the Dane early in the second half. Pulled off another vital block to deny Coleman

Hadergjonaj 6

Got forward well but his team-mates were unable to capitalise on his delivery from out wide.

Schindler 7

Usual exemplary reading of the game from someone who has been the club’s clear Player of the Year.

Jorgensen 7

Impressive in the air despite Tosun’s attempts, often illegal, to unsettle the Danish international with a nudge or two as the ball was in flight. Vital interception prevented Rooney releasing Walcott.

Kongolo 6

Came under pressure at times but stood up well to the task.

Mooy 6

Played in a much more advanced role when Town had the ball than has been the case for a lot of this season, an indication of the intent shown by the hosts.

Hogg 5

His usual energetic self but struggled to reach his usual high standards. Substituted.

Booked.

Quaner 5

Never got into the game, his afternoon summed up when he decided not to shoot when superbly placed in the second half and instead passed to Hadergjonaj. Substituted.

Pritchard 6

Good pressing game when Everton’s defence had possession and always looking for the gao to play in Mounie. Squandered a great chance in the second half at 1-0 down.

Van la Parra 6

Got through a decent amount of defensive work as Everton looked to get Coleman forward at every opportunity, to go with the probing he did down the left flank. Blatant dive failed to win a penalty. Substituted.

Mounie 5

Started the game brightly but then faded, eventually cutting an isolated figure before Depoitre’s late introduction from the bench..

Substitutes

Billing (for Quaner 59) 5

Battled hard.

Malone (for Hogg 63) 6

Drilled cross caused Pickford problems but no Town attacker on hand to capitalise. Also had a late shot blocked.

Depoitre (for Van la parra 75)

Had a fierce shot blocked by Funes Mori but otherwise was fighting a losing battle.
