Huddersfield Town: Fantastic response hailed as offer extended

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN chairman Dean Hoyle admits he has been '˜blown away' by the backing from Terriers supporters for the club's special discounted season ticket deal - with 11,000 fans having already purchased season cards for 2016-17.

The impressive landmark was reached at 5pm on Monday, just four days after they went on sale at the John Smith’s Stadium ticket office.

The club launched its special discounted ticket deal for the initial 10,000 fans, with prices set at just £179 for adults, £69 for eight-17 year-olds and £23 for under-eights.

But such has been the uptake that Hoyle has decided to extend the deal and freeze prices for a further 4,000 fans.

Hoyle said: “I have been absolutely blown away by the speed at which we have sold the first 11,000 season cards at the discounted prices.

“The speed of sales is a record for the club; unprecedented, even for the £100 centenary offer back in 2008.

“It’s been an amazing few days at the ticket office and I’d like to thank everyone who has already bought their season card.

“Given how popular the deal has been, I have decided to freeze the prices and give a further 4,000 fans the chance to join the #WagnerRevolution.

“This makes sure anyone who has been caught off guard by the popularity of the deal does not miss out!

“We will decide on the new prices in due course but once the 4,000 have gone, they are gone.

“We have still got work to do this season, but 2016/17 already looks promising!”
