Goalkeeper

Keiren Westwood (Sheffield Wednesday)

A very close call between him and Huddersfield’s Ryan Schofield.

On his return to this side, Westwood just gets the nod after making some vital saves to help Wednesday secure their first win in ten games.

Defence

Chris Basham (Sheffield United)

Showed his proficiency in midfield on the restart and produced a typically committed, disciplined and 100 per cent performance as United claimed just their second point of the season at Brighton.

Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday)

His face was a picture after his crucial goal against Coventry and he was resolute in his defensive duties all afternoon.

Paudie O’Connor (Bradford City)

Produced a commanding performance as City got the monkey off their backs and claimed a cherished first victory in ten matches in all competitions.

Midfield

Matt Smith (Doncaster Rovers)

Influential in another victory for in-form Rovers, who will top League One for Christmas if they beat Shrewsbury on Tuesday night.

Delivered a very assertive and composed display at Burton.

Jonathan Hogg (Huddersfield Town)

A typically indefatigable performance from Hogg against old club Watford and was at the heartbeat of most things good for Town in an excellent victory.

Levi Sutton (Bradford City)

Continued where he left off in the midweek draw at Crawley to display a very forceful display in the engine room.

Marvin Johnson (Middlesbrough)

One of the stars of Boro’s rise under Neil Warnock and produced another exquisite assist. Really enjoying his football.

Forwards

Britt Assombalonga (Middlesbrough)

Handed a chance to impress up top after being promoted from the bench, Assombalonga did not disappoint and seriously troubled Birmingham throughout with a captain’s performance.

Scored a very good goal as well.

Frazier Campbell (Huddersfield Town)

Scored a gift of a goal, but it was his prodigious work-rate, link play and attitude for the fight which really shone through against Watford. A real leader and a huge player for Town.

Isaac Mbenza (Huddersfield Town)

A player who has his mojo back and married offensive threat with defensive discipline following an outstanding display against Watford. The ovation from the bench and the dignitaries in the main stand when he came off on Saturday said it all.

Manager/head coach

Carlos Corberan (Huddersfield Town)

His team look really good when they play in his image. Just need to translate that to a more consistent basis.
