Hull City coach Marco Silva keeps forward options open for Everton trip

The Tigers travel to Everton on the back of a 12-game run that has yielded 11 defeats and just one point, from a goalless draw at Manchester United.

Oumar Niasse misses the trip along the M62 due to the terms of his loan switch and that suggests Silva will stick to a formation featuring just one striker, as opposed to the two-pronged attack that finished last weekend’s win over Swansea City.

“We will see - you need to wait for my decision,” said Silva when asked if Hull will employ two strikers or just one.

“Of course, we work in both systems. Since I come here, we have played with three systems and they have always worked.

“Okay, we didn’t start (with two strikers against Swansea) but we finished with two strikers. We play one hour with one and half an hour with two.

“So, (regardless of whether) it is possible to start with two or not, what is important is that the players know what we want when you change something during the game.”

Hull will be without Evandro (calf) for the fourth consecutive game but Silva insists they will travel with confidence.

“We respect Everton, they are a good team with good players and good individuals,” added the Hull chief.

“But, for sure, we need to keep our good organisation during the game and be more effective our attack as well to take point.”
