Hull City manager Steve Bruce scoffs at talk of Andrew Robertson being sold

HULL CITY manager Steve Bruce has rubbished talk of a big-money bid from Championship promotion rivals Derby County for left-back Andrew Robertson - saying that there was no way that the Tigers would contemplate selling him to the East Midlands outfit.

The Scottish international has been impressive form once again this term following a breakthrough campaign in England with the Tigers last term.

Reports have suggested that Derby could attempt to prize Robertson away from East Yorkshire with a bid of £7m, but Bruce quickly scotched such talk.

Bruce, who earlier this week said that he would be mad to consider selling midfielder Tom Huddlestone to the Rams - where he started his career - following further reports said: “Would I really contemplate selling to Derby? I don’t think so.

“Even if it was double the offer (for Robertson), I wouldn’t sell.”

Bruce confirmed that Shaun Maloney is back in the fray for tomorrow’s home game with struggling Charlton.

The game comes too soon for Alex Bruce, but he and Michael Dawson could return to the fray after a full weeks’ training next weekend.

Young midfielder Matty Dixon has joined York City on a permanent basis, with Bruce admitting he has fielded several loan enquiries for forward Greg Luer - and he says he may elect to farm out the young striker on loan in a few weeks.
