Hull City transfer news: Liam Rosenior reaffirms stance on Oscar Estupinan after speculation + Premier League loanee to leave club

HULL CITY head coach Liam Rosenior has stressed it would take something 'spectacular' for prolific striker Oscar Estupinan to leave the club this month - after he added to his reputation with his 12th goal of the season on Saturday.

The Colombian's fourth strike in successive games in the eighth minute of stoppage-time rescued a point in dramatic fashion in a 1-1 home draw with Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town.

Estupinan has been linked with Premier League side Everton, although Rosenior scotched the rumours in his pre-match press conference.

On Estupinan, who scored with a fine lob after earlier hitting the post, Rosenior said: "It's natural that when you have good players and it's January that you are going to have speculation. But like I said before, it is going to have to take something spectacular for us to even consider him leaving the club.

"He is loving it here and getting fitter and he is a key part of my plan and I have no plan on him leaving at the moment.

"We have succession plans in case we lose a player unexpectedly. But I am not expecting to lose any player (I want) this window. I will be really surprised if we lose anyone who we don't want to lose."

Hull's run without a league win on home soil stretched to eight matches, although there was relief late on after Estupinan saved the day with a late equaliser.

Michal Helik had put the Terriers in front on 21 minutes, his second goal against Hull this term, with the West Yorkshire club looking on course for their sixth straight win over City and a big boost in their survival fight.

Rosenior said: "It was of our own doing. With the way we started the game, we made uncharacteristic mistakes with the ball under no pressure and gave Huddersfield the oxygen and confidence that they needed in the game.

"We saw that first poor 10 to 15 minute period through and got a few corners and a bit of pressure and then conceded from a set-play.

"I have spoken to the players that no team this season is going to be perfect and you are going to have days where you are not great on the ball. But what you have to do is see through those moments and not concede.

"I don't think it was a point gained. But I was delighted with the players' attitude and character to keep going until the end. We kept knocking on the door.

"But we are giving goals away and that's something that has to stop."

Meanwhile, Rosenior has confirmed that young loanee Harvey Vale is to return to parent club Chelsea, although fellow Stamford Bridge Xavi Simons will be staying put at the club.

He added: "Harvey is on the cusp of going back to Chelsea. Nothing against him, he's a top lad and young player. I just couldn't guarantee him the minutes that he probably thinks he deserves and I wish him all the best."
