Ince delighted to be out of comfort zone at Hull City

The Blackpool winger, 22, yesterday ended uncertainty surrounding his future by joining the Tigers, despite rival interest from the likes of inter Milan and Stoke City.

The fee will be decided by tribunial, with the Seasiders entitled to compensation due to the player being under 23 with the Lancashire outfit seeking a fee of around £8m for his services, with Ince’s former club Liverpool due 35 per cent of any fee as part of a sell-on clause.

That fee is considered exorbitant by Hull, hoping to sign Ince for much less than the amount Blackpool are seeking.

Ince, for his part, is now eager to kick on at Hull after admitting to being in the ‘comfort zone’ at previous club Blackpool.

Ince, who spent four months on loan at top-flight outfit Crystal Palace in the second half of last season, said: “I’ve been fortunate to have a good schooling having started with Liverpool. I then had six months on loan with Notts County in League One before playing more than a hundred games for Blackpool in the Championship.

“Making the step to play in the Premier League felt like the right thing to do because I’d got to the point where the Championship was a bit too much in the comfort zone.

“Playing with and against the top players is a fantastic place to be and every kid wants to be playing against Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. I’m no different.

“The aim now is to try and work my way into the team here by working hard and trying to help the team to win games.”
