Wembley final and top 10 finish are aims for Tigers’ ever-present star Elmohamady

AS the only Hull City player boasting an ever-present starting record in the Premier League, Ahmed Elmohamady has every right to be proud of how this season is shaping up.

Not only are the Tigers potentially just 90 minutes from an FA Cup final but they are also well on course to claim their highest league finish.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s trip to West Ham United, Elmohamady said: “I am told we are in the club’s highest-ever position so it would be great to achieve that. The club has been here a long time.

“The main thing is staying in the Premier League and that is the priority. But a high position would be great.

“I want us to finish in the top 10. That would be a big achievement. That and getting to Wembley in the final. What a season that would be for everyone.”

City, who finished 17th in the top-flight under Phil Brown to record their current highest standing, need one more win to deliver on manager Steve Bruce’s pre-season target of 10 victories to guarantee survival.

Elmohamady, one start ahead of Tom Huddlestone in the league, added: “It was a massive three points against West Brom (on Saturday). They are one of the teams below us so it was important that we moved further away from them.

“We then saw the other results in the changing room and they were just about perfect. We could not have asked for any more than all the teams below us getting beat.”
