'˜It's tough sitting on the sidelines', admits Sheffield Wednesday's Ross Wallace

The Owls winger has been forced to watch from the sidelines for the last three games due to his red card against MK Dons.

Now the former Burnley man is hoping to get the nod from Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal for Friday’s semi-final first leg against Brighton at Hillsborough.

“It has been hard for me in these three games sitting and watching it but the lads have done absolutely fantastic to get to this stage and we are looking forward to it,” he said.

“Everything has been exactly the same this week. It has been the same build up and prepared in the same way.

“We know what Brighton are about so I can’t see them making too many changes.

“They have got players who can hurt you so we have to be careful. We are confident and want to get the fans behind us.”

Wednesday will revert back to their strongest line-up against Brighton, having made 10 changes for last weekend’s ‘dead rubber’ against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s a rotation policy which has meant most Owls players have been rested for certain games throughout the campaign.

“The manager has chopped and changed the team all season,” he said.

“It’s not something new to us as the players. He did it more so at the start of the season.

“We have had a settled team in the last few months.”
