Jermaine Beckford factfile

1983: Born December 9, London.

2004: After failing to make the grade as a trainee at Chelsea, begins to fire in goals for non-league Wealdstone.

2006: Joins Leeds in March and makes his debut as a substitute against Palace six days later. Later in the year he spends a short spell on loan at Carlisle.

2007: Scores eight goals in 18 appearances on loan at Scunthorpe as the Iron are promoted to the Coca-Cola Championship and is linked with a permanent switch to Glanford Park.

2008: Leeds' decision not to offload Beckford proves a shrewd move and he fires in 20 goals in League One as the Yorkshire side reach the play-offs, winning the club's player of the year award.

2009: Continues to find the net regularly and finishes the 2008/09 campaign with 34 goals in all competitions, but for the second season in a row Leeds fail in the play-offs.

2010: January - Scores the goal which earns Leeds a 1-0 win at Manchester United in the FA Cup third round. Also scores twice at White Hart Lane as Leeds hold Tottenham 2-2 in the fourth round, before going out in the replay. Leeds refuse to sell Beckford in the January transfer window and go on to win promotion.

May - Scores the goal against Bristol Rovers which secures second place in League One on the final day of the season, his 30th in all competitions.

Signs a four-year deal with Everton on May 31 after Leeds agree to cancel the final month of his contract.
