League One fate set to be decided at crunch vote next week
The majority of clubs in the third tier are known to want the season to end now, but a rebel gang of six clubs - led by Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony - want to stop the division from being finished with opinions running high on the subject.
Along with Posh, fellow promotion hopefuls Oxford United, Fleetwood, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Ipswich Town are part of the campaign to play out the remaining games.

Hide AdPeterborough have already threatened legal action if the season is curtailed, while Posh director of football Barry Fry has stressed that it would be 'wrong' if Rotherham United - who occupy the second automatic promotion position in League One - are promoted to the Championship without another ball being kicked.
With eight matches of the regular season remanding, just three points separate six clubs - from the second-placed Millers down to eighth-placed Wycombe, who have a game in hand on five clubs above them and two on seventh-placed Sunderland.
Speaking last week, Millers chairman Tony Stewart stressed that it was time for a decision one way or the other to be made and stated that he believed the current top three clubs should be promoted, while acknowledging an element of self-interest.
This week's board meeting concluded that a vote will be held over whether the campaign is played to a finish or if the league should opt for a points per game method to decide promotion, the play-offs and relegation.
