Leeds United v Oldham Athletic: Unity key if Leeds are to return to top form

SIMON GRAYSON has called for unity as Leeds United try to stop their season going off the rails.

With only one win from the last eight league games, the Elland Road club are in danger of losing a grip on a top two spot in League One.

Eight points clear at the top at one stage, Leeds could now slip to third if they lose to Oldham Athletic tonight and Colchester United beat Brentford.

"There are still a lot of games to be played and nobody can be downhearted," he said. "We're second and we have 15 games to go to turn in some positive results.

"It's hard because we're not playing as well we did. You are always going to have downs but we have to stick together. Nothing has changed in my mind from December."

After losing their first home game of the season against Walsall last week, Leeds needed a last-minute equaliser to snatch a draw against struggling Brighton at the weekend.

"We've got to draw on the positives from any game whether you win, lose or draw," said Grayson. "Obviously you look on the downsides as well because you want to win every game.

"We were disappointed with how we played over the course of the game and we know we can play better, but we remain positive in everything we do There are going to be dips in form and dips in results.

"You analyse everything, you set high standards, and you do that win or lose. We realise what we need to work on. We have strong characters and a desire to succeed, and that point could still prove to be vital."

Grayson reports no fresh injury problems.
