The 20-year-old goalkeeper sat out the recent 1-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion but a 10-day break has allowed him to recover and return to training.

Meslier's absence saw Kiko Casilla make his first Premier League appearance for the club and although he did what little he had to tidily, his selection caused discomfort on two levels. Some are unhappy on a morale level that a player who received an eight-match ban last season for racially abusing an opponent remains at the club, whilst others were more alarmed on a footballing level after Casilla was at fault for the first two goals of the 3-0 FA Cup defeat to Crawley Town in his previous appearance, his first since September's League Cup tie against Hull City.

Coach Marcelo Bielsa is supportive and fiercely protective of Casilla but will nevertheless be happy to have his first-choice goalkeeper back.

Kalvin Phillips returns from suspension and Leeds have no fresh injuries to contend with.

The Whites have not made a signing during the transfer window and Bielsa does not expect that to change in the final week.

“I'm not contemplating bringing anyone in,” said the Argentinian.

“I'm happy with the squad we have. I'm comfortable with it and I feel we can finish the season with these players.
