A right-sided central defender is among the main priorities for new head coach Uwe Rosler, who signed Moore on loan during his time in charge of Brentford.

Several rival Championship clubs are also believed to be interested in Moore, who fell away from first-team contention with the Foxes on their return to the Premier League last term.

Moore, 22, is contracted at Leicester until 2017 and started last season in the first team.

But his last game in the top-flight was back in December, with the defender joining Brentford for second loan spell at the end of February, joining the Championship side for the rest of the season.

The England Under-21 defender was recalled from his loan spell at Griffin Park in early April after featuring just three times for the Bees.

Moore is currently behind Wes Morgan, Robert Huth and Marcin Wasilewski in the pecking order at Leicester, who are reportedly also eyeing a move for West Brom stopper Gareth McAuley.

The Northern Ireland defender, who made 84 appearances and scored seven goals for Leicester between 2006 and 2008, is out of contract at the Hawthorns and has stalled on signing a new one-year contract.

But Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is known to rate Moore highly and a move away from the club on a loan basis to boost his game-time levels is understood to be the most likely development if the young defender leaves.

Moore played seven times under Rosler in the second half of the 2012-13 campaign, when the Bees were in the automatic promotion race in League One.

Moore also had a loan spell at Leeds’ West Yorkshire neighbours Bradford City as a teenager in 2011-12 and featured 22 times in all competitions for the Bantams.

He is in the 23-man England U21 squad for this month’s Uefa European Championships in the Czech Republic.
