Extra train to run for FA cup tie

Leeds football fans travelling back after their teams’ game against Arsenal in London early in the New Year now have the option of travelling home on an extra northbound train.

Tickets for the service, which departs London King’s Cross at 11pm on Monday January 9, are now on sale, so United fans can travel back to West Yorkshire from the Emirates Stadium after the FA Cup third round fixture.

The last train to Leeds leaves London at 11.30pm.

The extra train will call at Wakefield Westgate at 12.59am to drop off passengers before arriving in Leeds at 1.21am.

East Coast director Peter Williams said: “On top of the 11.30pm service, the additional train is sure to be welcomed by Leeds fans travelling back to Yorkshire.”
