FA Cup: Blades heading for Old Trafford as Redfearn and Evans meet up again

SHEFFIELD UNITED have been handed a dream FA Cup date at Manchester United in what is Yorkshire clubs’ highlight of this evening’s third-round draw in Cardiff.

For the second season running, a Steel City side will make a trip to Manchester, with in this case, the Blades visiting Old Trafford for the first time since April 2007.

An intriguing draw sees Steve Evans and Neil Redfearn lock horns against their former clubs against at Elland - with Leeds welcoming Rotherham for the second time in seven weeks.

Meanwhile, Doncaster Rovers have also received an attractive-looking draw at home to Stoke City - which pits Darren Ferguson against his former Manchester United team-mate Mark Hughes.

Sheffield Wednesday will welcome Fulham - who they face in the league the week before at Craven Cottage on January 2 - while Huddersfield Town have been handed a third-round home tie with Championship rivals Reading for the second season in succession.

Middlesbrough have also been handed home comforts at home to Championship rivals Burnley - who they host in the league on December 15.

Another tie between two sides jousting at the top end of the table sees Hull City entertain Brighton - who they knocked out en route to the final in 2013-14.
