Football legend Norman Hunter set to part with historic medals
Hunter, 69, won trophies galore with the fearsome United side that ruled English football in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The former England international currently has most of his medals and other mementoes from that glorious era tucked away in a bank vault for safekeeping.

Hide AdNow, however, the man whose tough-tackling style earned him the nickname “Bites Yer Legs” has decided to put them up for sale.
Lots in the online auction are scheduled to include his league championship medals from the 1968-69 and 1973-74 seasons, as well as his FA Cup winner’s medal from 1972.
Mr Hunter said: “I’m 70 next birthday and I can’t see the point in having [the medals] sitting in the loft or in the bank.
“This isn’t being done for financial reasons, I want them to be bought by people who can get some pleasure out of them.

Hide Ad“I’ll still have the memories – most of the good things that happened to me in football were down to Leeds United.”
Referring to United’s defeat in the 1975 European Cup final, he modestly added: “It’s not a bad little collection, really.
