Leeds await news on Byram before naming Millwall squad
The right-back, right, is due to travel to Millwall after completing 90 minutes of Leeds’ Capital One Cup defeat to Newcastle United but manager Brian McDermott is yet to confirm whether Byram will feature from the start of tomorrow’s match at the New Den. Byram returned after a five-month absence last weekend, featuring against Burnley for less than an hour following his recovery from a persistent hip injury.
McDermott, inset, was expected to rest him at Newcastle but chose instead to test the defender’s condition with a lengthier outing in a third-round loss at St James’ Park.

“But from his point of view he’s gone through that psychological barrier now.
“I’ll speak to Sam tomorrow and have a chat but with him it was really important that he played 90 minutes. That was pleasing for me.”
“I need to speak to him first and then pick the team, although the team was basically picked for me at 3am yesterday morning when I got back from Newcastle.”
