Leeds United v Blackburn Rovers: Bookies sit on fence for winless pair

THE bookies are finding it hard to split Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers ahead of Thursday night’s televised Championship clash at Elland Road.

United are looking to avoid extending a club record 11 games at Elland Road without a victory and to be honest it’s surprising on that basis that the hosts are only as big as 17-10 with Bet365 and Betfair.

But those odds still make Leeds marginal favourites over Rovers who are a best-priced 19-10 with Marathon Bet, with 12-5 the best you will get on a draw - with totesport and Betfred.

The table tells you there is precious little between the two sides with Leeds one point and one place above Blackburn in 18th with

Gary Bowyer’s side just two points above the dropzone.

And while United can’t win at home, neither can Rovers win away with Blackburn losing at MK Dons, Fulham and Brighton this term whilst drawing at Hull, QPR and Huddersfield.

Looking at the stats, there must be every chance of this being another point shared and it’s no surprise to see Jordan Rhodes the 5-1 favourite to score first, just ahead of United’s Chris Wood at 6s and Mirco Antenucci at 13-2.

From a United perspective, Souleymane Doukara is next likely in the bookies’ eyes at 8s.

Incidentally, Blackburn’s only victories of any kind this season have been the 3-0 and 2-0 verdicts respectively at home to Charlton and Ipswich.

And you have to go back another four away games before finding Blackburn’s last away win which came in April.

The hosts? Leeds.

No home win in 11 versus no away victory in nine.

Quite a quandary.
