But left back Charlie Taylor will be sidelined until after the international break with Steve Evans also revealing that Casper Sloth could be in the match-day squad and that Alex Mowatt is back to his “simply sensational” best.

Botaka has impressed enormously since signing from Excelsior but missed United’s trip to Bolton at the weekend after coming down with an illness.

But head coach Evans has been encouraged by the winger’s return to training this week and also spoke positively about Mowatt who he says is showing signs of the “sensational form” of last season.

Asked for the lowdown on team news ahead of tomorrow’s televised clash at Elland Road, Evans said: “Young Jordan Botaka has been back in training the last couple of days.

“I’ve not seen the results of his training this morning in terms of all the loads of medical data that they give me saying how he is but he’s a possible consideration.

“And young Alex Mowatt is maybe starting to look more like the Alex Mowatt that I watched last season who was simply sensational and we’ve not seen that so far this season.

“There’s a consideration around him as well as he is one hell of a talent.

“Charlie Taylor will be back post international break - that’s the plan and medically we are probably talking a couple of weeks.

“He is just an outstanding footballer that every manager and coach would love to work with and every day he is not out there we miss him.”

Asked about Sloth’s recent impressive displays for the under-21s, Evans added: “We have named a 20 man squad for tomorrow and Casper is part of that.

“I thought he is particularly impressive in the 45 minutes that I watched the 21s play on Monday.”
