Chances were largely at a premium in a match which had plenty of perspiration but little in the way of inspiration.

Leeds - roared on by a bumper 4,131 travelling support - went close late on when Chris Wood saw his dipping half-volley fly just over, but on the day, both keepers had little substantive to do.

Marco Silvestri was forced to save a decent stoppage-time free-kick from Jordan Obita, but otherwise he was pretty much under-employed.

Leeds, who handed a start to Kalvin Phillips and kept Liam Cooper in the starting line-up ahead of Giuseppe Bellusci, had two presentable half-chances in the first-half.

Both fell to Stuart Dallas, whose early low shot was gathered by Jonathan Bond before the Northern Irishman’s back-post header flew just over shortly before the break.

The second half pretty much mirrored a low-key first period with Orlando Sa firing wide when well placed on the left with 19 minutes to go.

Both sides huffed and puffed, but lacked quality in the final analysis, with a draw reflective of their efforts.
