The Whites moved onto 35 points and into 10th position after a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to the Saints. It’s safe to say, it’d take an utter disaster for Marcelo Bielsa’s side to be relegated now. In fact, it’s practically impossible.
And on Bielsa, it looks increasingly likely Argentine will sign up for a fourth season at Elland Road, despite his persistence to wait until the end of the season.
It’s shaping up to be a busy summer in West Yorkshire as Leeds plan to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window.
According to The Athletic, the Whites are understood to be eyeing five new signings but with that comes potential departures too.
Indeed, it is reported that Pablo Hernandez, Helder Costa and Tyler Roberts could be at risk, while speculation surrounding Raphinha is showing no signs of slowing down as his stellar performances continue.
The Brazillian scored his fifth goal for Leeds with a free-kick last night before speaking to Globo Esporte about his time in England’s top-flight so far:
"The Premier League is an extremely complicated, disputed and tough league," he said.
"The games are intense and balanced. I am very happy with my quick adaptation, after all, it is my first season, and pleased to be able to help the team in this return to the competition after so many years.
"The most important thing is that we are running a very regular campaign."
One player who could reportedly arrive to bolster Leeds’ academy ranks is 16-year-old Bournemouth forward Ajani Burchall.
Football Insider reports the Whites are among the Premier League clubs – including West Ham and Arsenal - who have registered their interest in the attacking talent.
The Bermuda-born youngster’s contract is due to expire this summer but it is likely the Cherries will demand compensation.
Burchall became the South Coast club’s third-youngest-ever player when he made his debut during the 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town in December.
Strengthening the academy became a big focus last summer following the arrivals of Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh and Crysencio Summerville.
