Predictions computer forecasts how Premier League top-four battle will unfold for Man City, Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool and Newcastle and where Leeds United will finish

AHEAD of the final game before the World Cup hiatus, data boffins at FiveThirtyEight have predicted how the final Premier League table will look, with Leeds United predicted to finish in 15th place in the bottom half of the table - three places lower than their current standing.

Using their ratings for each team, they simulate seasons thousands of times to produce their prediction for each side’s final points tally and league position.

Expert reckon Leeds - who visit Tottenham Hotspur in their last match ahead of the international break for Qatar - will finish on 42 points - four points above last year's total, above Everton, Southampton, Wolves, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest.

Leeds are given a 16 per cent chance of being relegated.

Last season, United finished one place above the drop zone after taking 38 points from 38 games and only managed to secure their top-flight tenure following a nail-biting final day of 2021-22.

Despite Arsenal currently leading the way in the real 2022-23 table, the number crunchers are tipping a title cruise for Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola's side tipped to end the season with 88 points, nine points clear of the Gunners.

Liverpool, currently in eighth, and Manchester United are tipped to finish in third and fourth place respectively with Newcastle United, who are third, missing out on the Champions League.

At the bottom, experts believe that Southampton, who are currently in the bottom three and have appointed Nathan Jones this week - will escape trouble, with south coast rivals Bournemouth destined for the drop instead on the latest data.
