Millwall 0 Huddersfield Town 1: Robins delighted to get first victory ‘on the board’ thanks to Vaughan

Vaughan – the Premier League’s youngest scorer – joined from Norwich for an undisclosed fee having spent last season on loan with the club and notching 14 goals.
After his effort gave Huddersfield their first win of the season to leave Millwall still goalless and pointless this term, Robins was full of praise for his new front man.

“We paid money for James, we paid money for Jonathan Hogg and apart from that it’s been free transfers and they’ve proved good acquisitions so far.
“We’re not getting carried away, it’s still very early days. It’s good to get the points on the board as it gives us confidence.
“It was a decent performance. We withstood everything Millwall threw at us and it’s not an easy place to come. I think they’re having a difficult time at the minute with a new manager who’s trying to impose his ideas on the players.

Steve Morison had a great chance to give his side the lead, but the striker was unable to head in James Henry’s cross. Joel Lynch then headed Adam Hammill’s free-kick wide of the post before Huddersfield nearly grabbed the lead just before the half-hour mark.
A long ball forward from Hammill was met by Vaughan, who got between the Millwall defence but saw his attempted chip stopped by Stephen Bywater.
Town scored 12 minutes into the second half when a corner from Hammill was headed in brilliantly by Vaughan for his fourth goal of the season.
