Hernandez 9: Scored from the spot after earlier being involved in the move that led to United’s second goal. Always wanted the ball and always had an eye for where Burton were most vulnerable. Outstanding.

Roofe 8: Terrorised the Brewers down their left flank with some forceful running and intelligent use of the ball. Great goal and then assist after the break.

Lasogga 8: Debut double for the loanee from Hamburg capped a lively display that also involved him hitting a post and firing just over in the second half. Has the physique to capitalise on the trickery of team-mates such as Saiz, Alioski, Roofe and Hernandez.

Substitutes – Dallas (for Anita 46) 7: Underlined his confidence with an early sighter of goal yielding a shot.
