Jones. Instantly shown faith by Butler after being handed his league debut and it was a night he will remember, even if he did not have too much to do. Denied a clean sheet at the death, but a rewarding night still. 7

Halliday: Showed assurance and intent in the first half and was solid in the second. Good night. 7

Anderson: Would maybe have expected to be busier in the first half, but held firm on the restart. 7

Bostock: His pass to set up James’ opener was a touch of sheer class. Some delightful contributions and made it look easy at times before fading on the restart. 8

Taylor: Hobbled off in the first half after being injured in a block tackle with Raggett. His injury will be assessed. Did not look great. 6

Coppinger: Making his first start since mid-December, the old stager showed some moments of quality and helped see Rovers through. 7

Sims: Showed some clever footwork and nifty skills in the first half, before making way in the second. Had been suffering from a mild bout of illness ahead of game, so did well enough. 7
