With Paul Warne watching at home in self-isolation, the Millers put on an excellent attacking performance, but only had themselves to blame for a 2-1 defeat.

Freddie Ladapo missed a penalty, chances went begging throughout, Angus MacDonald was sent off for a two-footed tackle and in stoppage time debutant Florian Jozefzoon conceded the penalty which allowed Jordan Hugill to score his first goal for the Canaries.

Jamal Blackman – did not deserve to be on the losing side after an excellent performance 8

Wes Harding – did really well to create a header Mickel Miller ought to have scored 7

Michael Ihiekwe – put Max Aarons's difficult-to-deal with cross through his own net 6

Angus MacDonald – a poor tackle put his side on the back foot minutes after the equaliser 4

Clark Robertson – a good performance down the left but a bad miss in the final ten minutes 7

Shaun MacDonald – a couple of heroic blocks in an excellent display but sacrificed when his namesake was sent off 8

Dan Barlaser – reminded the Millers of his passing quality on his second debut 7

Ben Wiles – struggled to make a big impact 6

Matt Crooks – intelligent movement as he worked with Barlaser 7

Mickel Miller – missed a very good first-half header and struggled to make an impact on the left wing 5

Freddie Ladapo – good goal but ought to have done better with his penalty 7.

Florian Jozefzoon (for Miller, 67) – his foul was the decisive moment 5

Richard Wood (for S MacDonald, 73) – came on and did what was needed defensively 6

Michael Smith (for Ladapo, 77) – set up a great chance for Robertson 7
