ROTHERHAM UNITED manager Paul Warne has delivered a quadruple injury boost for the Millers, with their treatment room likely to significantly clear by the end of January.

Warne, whose side visit Everton in the FA Cup on Saturday lunch-time, confirmed that versatile defender Clark Robertson was due to return to training today after being out with a broken metatarsal since October.

Midfielder Shaun MacDonald broke a bone in his leg in early November, but will step up his rehabilitation in training on Monday, while winger Chiedozie Ogbene, who underwent knee surgery in early October and attacking midfielder Kieran Sadlier - sidelined since November with an ankle ligament problem - are scheduled to be back on the grass with their team-mates at the end of this month.

The return to first-team contention for all four will arrive at a timely moment according to Warne.

He said: "Robbo is joining in training today (Friday), which is good. Macca is joining in on Monday and then Chieo and Kieran are joining in two weeks on Monday.

"So by the end of January, all four will be back on the grass with the squad, which is bordering on a 'January transfer window' for us as we have been missing all four.

"So, I am really pleased with that, but Joe (Mattock) will not be available until late March, which is a massive blow for us. But there are positives today.

"If you said to me we could see Chieo Ogbene in the transfer window, I'd be buzzing and if we could get the versatility and ability of Clark and the technical and athletic ability of Kieran out wide, I'd snap your wrist off. Whatever happens, we will come out of this window stronger than when we went into it.

"I am really pleased and it will give us more flexibility."

In terms of any updates regarding transfer activity, Warne says there is nothing to report.

Warne, who has been linked with ex-Blackpool striker Armand Gnanduillet, commented: "(There's) absolutely nothing.

"As always, we are attempting to making things happen and some of the players will have to leave. But it is pretty evident that most of my players, if they are to depart to play somewhere else, will probably be League One or Two.

"Currently - and understandably - the teams in those leagues are struggling to say the least.

"There is a lot of talking behind the scenes, but as of yet, I don't see anything happening in the next five or six days, if I am honest.

"Regarding incomings, there's two or three targets I really want. But we are not in a real position to move on that as yet.

"Whether I miss out on them or get them later in the window is yet to be seen. But everything is going on behind the scenes to try and make things happen."
