ROTHERHAM UNITED manager Paul Warne has confirmed that an unnamed Millers player could be out of action with a 'serious injury' for between three to four months.

Warne, whose side visit Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night - when he will again self-isolate and watch the game remotely after a member of his family tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this month - was also be without the suspended Angus MacDonald for the trip to the City Ground.

Winger Chiedozie Ogbene (knee) is also on the injured list.

Warne said: "We have got a serious injury, I don't want to say who it is because it gives a helping hand to the opposition.

"We think one of the players might have a break from an incident in the last second of the game. If that is the case, it could be three to four months.

"That is a blow because the 14 lads who played a part on Saturday were all very good, so to lose any one of our players for four months on top of just losing Chieo (Obgene) for a similar period of time is a blow. I won't know definitively until Tuesday when he goes for a scan. I don't really want to assist the opposition by telling them who it is.

"I am missing a player and I am missing Angus, so there is at least two new faces on the pitch. I might make another change, not forced.

"It's the next man up, you're only as good as your squad and that includes your staff.

Better news could see Matt Olosunde feature at Forest after missing the weekend game with Norwich due to injury.

Warne, speaking on Monday afternoon, added: "He was due to start at the weekend, with the way we were going to play.

"On Friday after training, he had a little bit of a problem with his groin. It wasn't a massive issue.

"Matt had been excellent in training for the last three weeks. On the Saturday morning, he got his groin re-tested. Was he 100 per cent? No.

"Could he guarantee he'd be flat out for the whole game? No. It just wasn't a risk worth taking.

"I've been led to believe he trained fine today and is available tomorrow. It's nothing more than his groin was just a little bit achey."
