Rotherham United v Darlington: Law happy to stick around with Millers

IN-DEMAND Rotherham United midfielder Nicky Law hopes the club can finally get back into action tonight for the first time since December 12.

They entertain bottom-placed Darlington with the midfielder – subject of a reported 150,000 bid from Championship outfit Blackpool – admitting the enforced break has been hugely frustrating.

"It's six games now we've had called off," said Law.

"I've never known anything like it before.

"We thought Rochdale was going to be on last week so that was disappointing but definitely believed Saturday's match at Accrington would go ahead.

"We're not counting our chickens now for this one to go ahead either but we're desperate to play."

Promotion-chasing Millers – still in fourth despite their lack of action – turned down Blackpool's offer for the 21-year-old on Friday insisting they are not a selling club.

Law said: "If a price had been agreed with a club in the Championship then, like anyone else, I would like to talk to them. It's always very flattering to be linked with clubs like that but it would be up to Rotherham.

"I heard about it like everyone else on Friday and they know the price they'd like if someone does come in.

"I'm really happy at Rotherham though and I am in no rush (to leave).

"We're doing well at the moment though and we'll just have to see what happens."

Law joined the Millers from Sheffield United last summer after being on loan with Bradford City for most of last season and has been an integral part of Ronnie Moore's side.

With just two wins all season, Darlington, ironically, have been just as inactive as Rotherham recently.

"They haven't played for six in a row either now," said Law, their opponents' last outing being a

5-0 hammering at Torquay the same day Rotherham played their last fixture, a 4-2 success at Bradford City.

"We won't know until we get out there whether or not this rest has been good or bad for us but we're confident of getting a win."

Last six games: Rotherham WDLDLW, Darlington WLLLLL.

Last time: Rotherham 1 Darlington 1 (Rotherham won 4-2 on pens); November 16, 2008; Football League Trophy.

Referee: A Taylor (Cheshire).
