Rotherham United v Huddersfield Town: Clark enters derby with one eye on Wembley

Lee Clark's Wembley ambitions mean the Huddersfield Town manager will not field a weakened team in tonight's derby at Rotherham United.

The Terriers and Millers are potentially just 360 minutes away from reaching the national stadium after battling through to the Northern Area quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Clark, who will be able to field loanees Joe Garner and Lee Croft tonight after being granted permission by their parent clubs, said: "It is a huge game because we are just four ties away from Wembley and I can tell you that I, for one, am taking the competition very seriously.

"I will be fielding the strongest team that is available on the night. There is no chance of any experimenting and there will be no weakening of the team for what is an important match.

"We are going to Rotherham United to win the game."

For Rotherham, Jamie Anderson could start in goal, while Stephen Brogan and Jamie Green are vying for the left-back berth. Mark Bradley (hip) and Dale Tonge (foot) are both out.

Huddersfield, meanwhile, are hoping within the next three weeks to receive the go ahead to build a new multi-million pound training facility.

Town's first team train just off Leeds Road and talks have been on-going for several months between the club and the owners of the Leeds Road site in question, Sygenta Sports and Fitness Ltd.

Under the proposals, the Terriers will build Premier League standard pitches for themselves and new facilities for 'The Rec Club' that currently occupies the land.

Clark said: "It would be an unbelievable step forward for the football club but it would also help the local community.

"It starts to bring together my vision for the club. We want to bring the academy and first team together and get a relationship built from the eight-year-olds all the way up to the first team.

"We have a great relationship with everyone at Syngenta and we want to make that link stronger.

"The facilities would be closer to the stadium and it's in the centre of town, which means fans could come and watch us more easily. I always want to encourage that.

"We are all excited and hope it all goes positively for us.

"If it does then it benefits all parties."
