Rotherham United v Macclesfield: Moore urges Millers to shape their own destiny in hunt for promotion

ROTHERHAM United manager Ronnie Moore is looking to sign a centre-back on loan before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Both Nick Fenton (calf) and Ian Sharps (knee) suffered knocks against Bury at the weekend and are struggling to be fit for tonight's home game.

Moore has challenged his players to seize the opportunity to win promotion knowing that victory tonight could lift the club back into second spot in the League Two table.

"It's what we do that counts and if we do our jobs we should not be looking at anyone else," he said. "We still have Port Vale, Notts County and Northampton to play. That's what annoyed me when I heard people moaning and groaning about our league position. It's always been in our hands. We have got some tasty games to come but Macclesfield is the first priority and we need to go into that game like we did the victory over Bury."

Moore believes the return of Drewe Broughton from a loan spell at Lincoln City can put pressure on the club's other strikers during the remaining 10 games.

Striker Craig McAllister has yet to score since arriving on loan from Exeter three games ago but is likely to keep his place in attack tonight alongside leading marksman Adam Le Fondre.
