Rotherham UNited v Northampton Town: No time for sentiment as Millers legend Revell returns with Cobblers
The 34-year-old striker became something of a cult hero at Rotherham, playing a huge part in their rise from League Two to the Championship under Steve Evans.
The battling centre-forward netted in both the League One play-off semi-final against Preston North End, and his two goals – including a stunning long-range strike – after trailing 2-0, inspired a Millers fightback against Leyton Orient in the final at Wembley.

But today he returns with Northampton Town to the AESSEAL New York Stadium, looking to impress new Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Warne – a team-mate of Revell’s in his playing days – knows his defenders must be prepared for a physical battle.
“Revs will always be remembered here as a legend for scoring that goal at Wembley, which was a cross,” said Warne.

“I think he has got the bit between his teeth and I know what Revs is like, he will definitely want to impress the new manager.
“His performances have been really good so he will be one of the threats on Saturday.”
Warne believes there are comparisons between Revell and Kieffer Moore, who has netted eight goals in 10 appearances since arriving on loan from Ipswich.
He said: “The biggest compliment I can give him is that Kieffer is not a million miles away from being a Revs sort of player.”
