Party time as Millers go up after shoot-out

The Millers are back in the Championship for the first time since 2005 and a big town centre ‘thank you’ parade, due to start tomorrow at 6pm, was quickly announced by Rotherham Borough Council after the final whistle in London. It had looked like Orient, who led the League One table for 22 weeks of the season, would end their 32-year absence from the second tier of English football as they raced into a 2-0 lead but it was Rotherham’s day as former Orient player Alex Revell bagged a brace to send the game to extra time. After a goal-less 30 additional minutes, goalkeeper Adam Collin was the hero in the shoot-out.
Trailing after a penalty miss by The Millers’ Lee Frecklington, Collin saved twice to seal a 4-3 spotkicks victory to send thousands of Rotherham fans who had made the trip to the capital into delirium.
