Paul Warne expects Flo Jozefzoon to be final addition at Rotherham United

The Championship outfit completed the signing of Derby County winger Flo Jozefzoon on a season-long loan on Thursday, while defender Curtis Tilt has joined Wigan on loan until January.

Jozefzoon is the ninth – and very likely the last – arrival of the window for United, with the only activity today likely to revolve around the possible departure of a couple of squad players on loan.

On a couple of potential ongoings, Warne, currently self-isolating after a member of his family tested positive for Covid-19, said: “They will be loans if they happen. If they don’t, then no drama.

“It is none of my ‘big hitters’. I have not had any bids or rumours of bids or anything.

“Realistically, if anyone is going to come in for my best players, then I would be amazed if the agent had not tapped me up by now. They would do well to get an offer through now.

“It might happen... At 5pm, I could have sold 10, could be the richest club in history but have no team! But I do not see any of my starting XI being sold.”

Jozefzoon’s arrival will mitigate for the injury loss of Chiedozie Ogbene and while the loanee could potentially be recalled in January, Warne remains relaxed.

He added: “We have got him until the end of the season, but with all loan deals, there is the chance for the parent club to take him back.

“If he does really, really well for us and sets the world alight, we might lose him. But that is the risk we take when we loan players. Hopefully he has a great season and gets back to his best and opens up opportunities for him at the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, Warne insists that Tilt’s departure to Wigan is a ‘win-win’ for the club.

On, Tilt, who underwent hip surgery in June, Warne said: “It is a win-win, Curtis wants to play football as well, so it is good for him. People think that when you loan someone out, it is the end of them but that is not always the case. I want him to go and play well and get back in my team.”

“It is no different to when Icky (Michael Ihiekwe) went to Accrington and then came back and played the rest of the season. It will do him good, it will give him confidence and match fitness and sharpness.”
