Rotherham United 0 Barnet 0: Millers deadlock at Don Valley

PROMOTION-CHASING Millers were held to a scoreless draw against relegation-threatened Barnet at the Don Valley Stadium, writes Robert Gledhill.

Johnny Mullins had overcome a facial injury sustained in the win at Torquay to retain his place and Ian Thomas-Moore had recovered sufficiently from hamstring trouble to take a place on the bench.

The visitors made three changes to the side which had raised morale by defeating Lincoln 4-2 at home, with Southampton loan signing Anthony Pulis, the son of Stoke manager Tony, brought back into midfield after suspension.

Jake Cole made three decent saves for Barnet and Adam Le Fondre was narrowly off target on a couple of occasions after being set up by Ryan Taylor but the Millers failed to break through in the opening 45 minutes.

Andy Warrington did not have a save to make but Jason Taylor cleared from inside the six-yard area from Barnet captain Anwar Uddin’s downward header.

The Millers suffered a blow in the 71st minute when left-back Tom Newey became referee Geoff Eltringham’s 12th red card victim of the season after what appeared a minor tussle near halfway with Barnet striker Izale McLeod, who became the official’s 63rd booking.
