Match Centre: Sheffield Wednesday 3 Chesterfield 1
Goals from Lewis Buxton, Gary Madine, and Ben Marshall sent the majority of the 24,514 crowd home happy but the scoreline was harsh on visitors Chesterfield.
Former Owls striker Leon Clarke scored with 10 minutes to go to make it 2-1 and set up a tense finale.

The Owls had opened the scoring in the 17th minute when defender Lewis Buxton headed in a Marshall corner.
Madine doubled the advantage 15 minutes after half-time, scoring his 10th goal of the season with a low angled drive.
Clarke’s late goal was due reward for Chesterfield’s efforts but it was destined not to be a winning return to Hillsborough for their manager and former Owls hero John Sheridan.

“We had lots of opportunities to score and approached the game well.
“Today we had eight first-team players unavailable and we were stretched a little but we had great character and strength.
“People ask if I enjoy the game - the enjoyment comes from this, a win, being victorious.
