No damage caused to Sheffield Wednesday after latest setback, insists Carlos Carvalhal

CARLOS CARVALHAL believes his team’s defeat at Milton Keynes Dons will not leave any lasting damage to his Sheffield Wednesday team.

While critical of the Owls’ display in the first-half of a game which saw them defeated 2-1, Carvalhal is confident his players are strong enough to bounce back over the forthcoming festive period.

They will strive to respond when they host Wolves on Sunday.

“We were a shadow of ourselves in the first half at MK Dons and much better in the second half,” said Carvalhal. “But there will be no problem with confidence.

“This group is all together and sometimes it is difficult to pinpoint why certain things can happen in certain games.

“But what we are certain of is that we must correct the mistakes we have made when we get back to Hillsborough for the next two games.

“We pressed more in the second half and made more things happen. We might have got an equaliser but we did not on this occasion.

“But we are together, we are strong. Nothing is decided in December or January, it is where we are in May that counts.”
