To mark such dedication, the club laid on a special welcome for Ivy and she was invited to enjoy the full VIP treatment during the season opener against Bristol City last weekend.

Alongside her grandson Neville Glasby, 51, and great grandson Adam Glasby, 20, Ivy watched her team storm to victory and get all three points.

Ivy explained she was thrilled with the recognition.

She said: “It’s something I will never forget. It was a great day. Of course I’ll be going to the next game against Reading.”

Great grandson Adam said: “We got a phone call asking us if we wanted to come see the match from an executive box.

“It was a really good experience. We got a three course meal and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, especially Ivy.

“Ivy can’t walk because because of her age but it didn’t matter as the staff got anything she wanted for her straight away.”

The treats didn’t stop at full-time either and Ivy and her family were told not to leave immediately after the game.

Adam said: “At full-time, the new owner Dejphon Chansiri came in to see us.

“He gave Ivy a signed Wednesday shirt with the number 100 on the back. We didn’t expect that at all, which was even better.”

The trio also got to meet Wednesday legend David Hirst who scored 106 goals for the Owls between 1986 and 1997 and remains a fan favourite at Hillsborough.

Adam said: “David Hirst came in as well and shook our hands. We weren’t expecting that, it was amazing.”
