Tranmere Rovers 1 Sheffield Wednesday 2: Lowe nets winner for Owls

Gary Megson saw his Sheffield Wednesday come from behind to beat Tranmere Rovers in League One.

Owls captain Rob Jones returned after recovering from surgery on a broken nose. Goalkeeper Nicky Weaver returned to training this week - three months after kneem surgery - but will not be rushed back into competitive action.

Lewis Buxton missed out, Liam Palmer replacing the right-back, while Reda Johnson was at left-back. Stephen Bywater and Ben Marshall returned after being cup-tied last weekend.

Jose Baxter opened the scoring for the hosts after 38 minutes, before the Owls grabbed an equaliser on the stroke of half-time via Chris Lines.

Substitute Ryan Lowe put the Owls in front with 10 minutes remaining, heading home a corner for the visitors.
