Snodgrass offered top contract

LEEDS UNITED have offered captain Robert Snodgrass a new contract that will make the Scot the highest paid player at Elland Road.

The 24-year-old has a little over a year remaining on his existing deal and manager Neil Warnock is keen to tie the club’s star player down to a longer contract.

Leeds chief Warnock said: “We have offered him a top contract that will make him the best paid player at the club. I want him to be out captain next year and I have asked him to give us a eyar to get Leeds into the Premier League.”

Andy O’Brien is understood to be United’s existing highest paid player.
