Wilder’s hand has been further boosted by the availability of Leon Clarke, fit again after a couple of months out with an ankle problem and Matt Done, available after a jaw injury.

Wilder, whose side are unbeaten in their past 11 league matches, said: “It was fantastic for Leon to come back and play half an hour on Wednesday night (against Grimsby in the Checkatrade Trophy) and for Matty Done to play 45 minutes.

“Caolan Lavery also started for sixty minutes and all will be involved (at Chesterfield). Stefan Scougall will be involved and the only ones who will be missing are Harry Chapman, Louis Reed and Aaron Ramsdale, who are on international duty.

“Billy (Sharp) is ok after illness and has trained and we are all set and really looking forward to it.

“We have had a really good week and the attitude and work ethic has been first-class and superb and we want to keep our league form going now.”
